Antonio Lucio Vivaldi was born on 4 March 1678 in Venice, Italy.
His father, who was a violinist, he taught Antonio to play the violin.
Antonio was possibly trained at a young age, judging by the wide musical knowledge he had assimilated by the age of 24, when he started working at the Ospedale della Pietà.
Over the following thirty years he composed most of his main works while working there.
